For the first time since their inception, the Panthers will have a new look.
The new logo has been designed to provide a "more aggressive, contemporary look to the logo while making it more three-dimensional for ever-increasing digital use," according to a press release.
The Panthers will transition to the refined logo throughout 2012.

Rivera Sees Newton As Leader
Cam Newton set an record for rushing touchdowns in a season by a QB in 2011, became the first player in NFL history to throw for 4,000 yards and rush for 500 and almost single-handedly reignited interest in the Panthers.
Head coach Ron Rivera said he couldn't be happier with Newton's rookie season, but wants to see him take greater ownership of the team as he embarks on his second season.

Jacksonville has contacted the Panthers for permission to interview Carolina o-coordinator Rob Chudzinski for the Jaguars’ vacant head coaching job, a person familiar with the negotiations said on Monday.
The person spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity because neither team had publicly announced Jacksonville’s request.
Chudzinski’s future is the biggest issue facing the upstart Panthers as they enter the offseason.
