The Baltimore Ravens have signed quarterback Skylar Thompson, his agency SportsTrust confirmed. The move comes two days after the team's rookie minicamp concluded and gives Baltimore five quarterbacks on its current roster.

Thompson, 28, spent parts of three seasons with the Miami Dolphins after being selected in the seventh round of the 2022 draft. He made three career starts, two as a rookie and one in 2024. The Pittsburgh Steelers placed him on injured reserve last September with a hamstring injury and he did not appear in a regular season game.

Lamar Jackson remains Baltimore's starter with Tyler Huntley serving as the primary backup. First-year head coach Jesse Minter acknowledged Saturday that the rest of the depth chart remains unsettled.

"I think there's a place for anywhere from three to five, honestly, especially for the offseason, just to kind of make sure that we have everything covered," Minter said. "I think that could be in flux, whether there's veterans out there that we may want to look at or even a couple other rookies, but I think that's a room you're always trying to just find that perfect number."

Thompson's arrival does not signal an imminent departure for undrafted rookies Diego Pavia or Joe Fagnano, both of whom participated in last weekend's minicamp. Carrying five quarterbacks long-term, however, is not expected to be part of the team's plans.

Baltimore has one open roster spot remaining, which appears likely to be filled by veteran defensive lineman Calais Campbell, whose signing is expected to be finalized this week.
