Welcome to the top 30 recap; ten quarterbacks, ten receivers, and ten running backs who made Sunday their personal highlight reel.
Top Ten Quarterbacks
1. Carson Palmer: 440yds, 3/0
It?s the old Dan Marino syndrome, throw for a billion yards and still lose. The best part is this week he plays the same Saints D that Roethlisberger just shredded.
2. Phillip Rivers: 337yds, 3/0
The other competitor in the gunslinger challenge. He might have thrown for seven scores if that L.T. guy wasn?t hogging all the touchdowns.
3. Brett Favre: 347yds, 2/0
Remarkably he?s rebounded from last year?s catastrophe and seems to be a legitimate fantasy QB. It?s either that or Minnesota was vastly overrated.
4. Ben Roethlisberger: 264yds, 3/0
The last two weeks would indicate that the Steelers are going to air it out which is good news for Ben owners.
5. Steve McNair: 373yds, 3/2
The way he holds the ball completely freaks me out. It?s like he?s shot putting it or something.
6. Rex Grossman: 246yds, 3/1
I don?t trust him, even after a beautiful game versus the Giants. I think the eight interceptions and five fumbles over the past four weeks can?t be a good sign.
7. Drew Brees: 398yds, 1/0
He?s got five games over 300 yards, and he?s up against that tremendous Bengals? D this week. Cha-Ching.
8. Tony Romo: 308yds, 2/0
He?s increased his yards five games in a row and he?s gone a couple games without throwing a pick. If you look at that trend you can assume he?ll throw for about 500 in week 15.
9. Donovan McNabb: 222yds, 1/0
Gone are the fireworks of the first seven weeks, now he?s doing just enough to get by. That?s not good news for owners like me.
10. Peyton Manning: 236yds, 1/0
This is the fourth game he?s thrown for a single touchdown and I for one am sick of it. He averaged over three a game last year! For the first QB taken this guy is not fulfilling his sacred fantasy duty.
Top Ten Running Backs
1. LaDainian Tomlinson: 104yds, 4td
He?s massive. What more can you say? If you don?t own him then pray you don?t face him. Light a candle or something.
2. Willie Parker: 213yds, 2td
He didn?t really bust out until the third quarter when had those two massive runs. Although I have to say, for a guy nicknamed ?fast? to be caught from behind two times is confusing.
3. Frank Gore: 159yds, 1td
It?s an old but grand fantasy tradition; always start a player against Detroit.
4. Deuce McCallister: 60yds, 2td
He?s a giant bust. He?s had one 100yd game. If it weren?t for the seven TDs he?d be receiving hate mail at this point.
5. Steven Jackson: 93yds, 1 td
He also caught six balls for 40 yards. Jackson has been one of the most consistent fantasy performers out there, a real boon to the industry.
6. Travis Henry: 107yds, 1td
If you?re keeping track at home that?s three good games all year. In other words if you?re still counting on him then you?re playing for pride.
7. Joseph Addai: 78yds, 1td
He?s had as many 100 yard games as me. Let?s face it, the Colts hate you. Okay, I?m sorry, he had a good game.
8. Tiki Barber: 141yds, 0td
He?s got about 1000 yards and one measly touchdown. How could that be? Still, most people probably picked up a great back in the third round.
9. Brian Westbrook: 113yds, 0td
This is the first time the Iggles gave him 20 carries. Let this continue my Eagle brethren!
10. Anthony Thomas: 109yds, 0td
He?s the running back of record for the Bills and he?s worth owning and riding. You know Losman can?t throw so Thomas could put up big numbers the final seven games.
Top Ten Wide Receivers
1. Chad Johnson: 11 catches, 260yds, 2td
To put this in perspective in my league he scored as many points this game as he had the previous eight combined. That?s insanity.
2. Donald Driver: 6 catches, 191yds, 1td
If Favre is going to be good again then Driver will be quite useful, especially if you consider he was available in the sixth round in most leagues.
3. Donte Stallworth: 6 catches, 139yd, 1d
If he hadn?t been hurt all year you?d have to think these types of games would?ve been commonplace.
4. Mark Clayton: 7 catches, 125yds, 1td
He?s not owned in four out of five leagues. He?s also been nice enough to completely destroy Desmond Mason?s season.
5. Malcom Floyd: 5 catches, 109yds, 1td
No one in America started him. Even if he plays fantasy, he didn?t start him.
6. Terrell Owens: 5 catches, 96yds, 1td
If your league gives long play bonuses you scooped up on his 51 yard TD. If you aren?t in a league like that you should be; they are way more fun.
7. Marques Colston: 10 Catches, 169yds, 0td
He?s had three giant games in a row and he looks like he might be gunning for master of the universe. Like He-Man.
8. Patrick Crayton: 5 catches, 104yds, 1td
With Romo in and Terry Glenn out Crayton would be a nice addition to any team.
9. Reche Caldwell: 9 catches, 90yds, 1td
If he becomes the golden boy?s favorite fantasy riches await him.
10. Hines Ward: 5 catches, 86yds, 1td
The only thing that could stop him in Cleveland this weekend is a blizzard.
