1) Indianapolis at Dallas The 9-0 Colts proved there may be a way to beat them as the Buffalo Bills came close in a 16-17 loss. They had uncharacteristic turnovers which led to points for Buffalo and they took Marvin Harrrison and Reggie Wayne out of the game by playing double coverage and staying deep. But the Colts survived and Peyton Manning was his usual great self, staying poised and not forcing throws to his receivers. They know they can have confidence in their tight ends and running backs to step-up and make big plays for them. Indianapolis also knows they have a giant bulls-eye on their back?.and every team, including the Cowboys who are 5-4 are licking their chops to beat them. The Cowboys QB Tony Romo was outstanding in last weeks 27-10 win over Arizona. And it seems that T.O. is happy as well. The Colts defense is a bit bruised but I have to put the game on the match-up of quarterbacks and Peyton Manning has too much experience to bet against, especially against the Cowboys first year starter Romo. You don?t want to get into a shootout with Manning. The Colts over the Cowboys in a great game in Texas stadium. 2) Minnesota at Miami This is a match up between two teams on opposite ends of the momentum meter. Miami (3-6) is rapidly gaining confidence following two consecutive wins over good football teams (Chicago, Kansas City), while Minnesota (4-5) has lost three straight. The Dolphins defense led by DE Jason Taylor and LB Zach Thomas has been great of late and should perform well against an average Vikings offense led by QB Brad Johnson. The Vikings struggled Sunday keeping the Packers defense away from QB Brad Johnson and I expect the Dolphins D to be in his face even more. If Dolphins QB Joey Harrington can execute a somewhat modest offense to perfection Miami wins and keeps the mo. 3) New England at Green Bay The 6-3 Patriots find themselves in a position they have not been in for years?a losing streak. But is it their fortune they are 4-0 on the road? The Green Bay Packers (4-5) are entering a difficult stretch in their schedule in which they must win weekly to have any postseason hope. But MVP QB Brett Favre tends on bringing plenty of hope to his team when he takes on MVP QB Tom Brady of the Patriots. It may just be a matter of time until the Patriots ?right the ship? but with some serious defensive injuries including that of safety Rodney Harrison will it be this week that they ?right this ship?? Although I think Green Bay will play their butts off I can?t fathom speaking the words ?The Patriots have lost three in a row!? so unfortunately for Green Bay it will be this week that the New England Patriots will ?right their ship? and win in Lambeau Field. 4) Oakland at Kansas City This AFC West divisional game has the potential to be a low scoring affair given the Raiders lack of offense and solid defense. The Raiders (2-7) created three turnovers in lasts week game against the Broncos, but still claim the worst turnover ratio in the NFL and are winless in their division. Plain and simple the Raiders need more offensive production. The Chiefs also need more offensive production this week after scoring only 10 points in a loss to Miami. RB Larry Johnson and QB Damon Huard should be ready to ?run and gun? and put up some big numbers this week. Playing in Arrowhead Stadium is also a safety blanket for the 5-4 Chiefs who are 3-1 at home. 5) NY Giants at Jacksonville This will be an interesting game between two teams with high playoff hopes. The (6-3) Giants underachieved in a big game last week against the Bears, but have been a great road team this season. The Jags also suffered a disappointing loss to the Texans for the second time this year, which happened on their home turf where they had previously been perfect. The Jags must limit their turnovers in order to win, while the Giants must get their players healthy. They were missing 5 starters against the Bears on Sunday and lost two more during that game. Even with the injuries I feel that the Giants are a better team. Eli can make a lot of things happen for his team passing, and Tiki Barber even with a bad thumb can make a lot of great runs. The Jags didn?t look cohesive as a unit and QB David Garrard threw 4 interceptions. I look for the Giants to give the Jags their second consecutive loss at home and take them out of playoff contention. Upset pick is Cincinnati over New Orleans: In the pre-season many football experts though that his week 11 match up would feature a team bound for the play-off and one bound for an early first round pick. While their prediction is right, it?s the Bengals on the playoff outs, and the Saints who seem destined to continue marching well into mid January. While New Orleans has played well this year, I feel Carson Palmer and the Bengal offense is about to go on a run after amassing over 500 yards in offense last week. Look for the Bengals to hurt the Saints playoff chances, will keep themselves in the mathematically playoff hunt. College Analysis: Cal at USC A marquee match up in the LA Coliseum pits #4 USC against #17 Cal. This game could have been a top-ten battle if not four an upset loss by the Golden Bears last Saturday. SC passed their first test in their three week exams with flying colors by beating Oregon handily. The Golden Bears will be looking to spoil the Trojans BCS hopes and need to play better to do so. The Trojans will respond to the challenge, win, and set up a huge match up with national title implications against Notre Dame next week.
