Trial Of Accused In Taylor's Death Postponed

A Miami judge has postponed the trial of the four men who have been accused of slaying Redskins' safety Sean Taylor until August, according to Associated Press.

Defense attorneys and prosecutors said Friday that they weren't prepared for the trial to begin April 7 as initially planned.


Redskins, Super-Bowl Champion Giants To Open NFL Season

The NFL?s Thursday night season opener will match the Giants and the Redskins, with the game possibly starting an hour-and-a-half earlier to avoid clashing with the Republican National Convention, as reported by the Associated Press.

The game is now scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EDT on September 4, the concluding night of the Republican convention, and will be televised by NBC. League spokesman Greg Aiello said Wednesday that the NFL is talking with the network about changing the game?s starting time to 7:00 p.m.

Redskins Re-Sign P Derrick Frost

The Washington Redskins on Monday re-signed punter Derrick Frost, according to a Yahoo Sports report.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Redskins Make Offer To WR Hackett

The Washington Redskins made a contract offer to free-agent wide receiver D.J. Hackett on Thursday, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Hackett has not acted on the offer because he wanted to continue with visits to Tampa Bay on Thursday and Carolina on Friday.

The Seahawks have also expressed a desire to retain Hackett.

Could Arizona Shop WR Boldin?

With Larry Fitzgerald re-signed in Arizona, there are rumors that the Cardinals might look to shop fellow Pro Bowl receiver Anquan Boldin, according to the NFL Network.

Teams like the Cowboys, Eagles and Redskins, who have been looking for an elite receiver and tried to make a play for Fitzgerald, might end up in the Boldin sweepstakes.

The Cardinals offered Boldin a contract extension last season, but he turned it down so he could wait to see what kind of deal Fitzgerald received from the team.
