Abraham Will Not Retire; Jets Will Most Likely Call Off Pursuit Of Law

Oct 27, 2014 3:30 AM

Jets cornerback Donnie Abraham has opted not to retire meaning that New York is not likely to pursue cornerback Ty Law. This turn of events could hurt the Jets in 2005 as Law is a better overall player than Abraham. Abraham, who doesn't seem to be starting material anymore due to his average speed, had an inconsistent season last year.

West Side Stadium Vote Delayed

Oct 27, 2014 3:30 AM

After months of expectation, advertising wars, celebrity speeches and rallies, state lawmakers agreed yesterday to delay a vote on the proposed West Side stadium, slowing the Jets' push to clear the final approval hurdle. "Consistent with the past practices of the board, I am honoring this request," Pataki's budget director, John Cape, who is chairman of the board, said in a statement. Bruno asked for a one-month delay, because by then he said the state Supreme Court would rule on lawsuits opposing the project.

Jets Remain Interested In Signing Ty Law

Oct 27, 2014 3:30 AM

The Jets remain interested with the possibility of adding Ty Law to their secondary, but they have no plans to bring the three-time Pro Bowl cornerback in for a visit. Law has drawn interest from the Jets, Dolphins, Chiefs, Colts, Steelers and Lions but is still recovering from a foot fracture that caused him to miss the final nine games of the 2004 season. His agent, Carl Poston, said on Sirius NFL Radio this week that Law will be ready for training camp and wants more than a one-year deal. Jets coach Herman Edwards has spoken with Law, but the Jets are said to be waiting patiently until Law can prove that he is healthy.
