The Rams will not have Sam Bradford at quarterback on Sunday against the Saints as he continues to suffer from a high ankle sprain. A.J. Feeley will get the start as St. Louis continues to search for their first victory of the season.

Mark Ingram will not play Sunday against the Rams because of a bruised heel. Ingram suffered the injury during the team's 62-7 win over the Colts last Sunday night. New Orleans coach Sean Payton told reporters that X-rays on Ingram were negative after the game, and the rookie sat out practice all week.

Saints center Olin Kreutz has left the team because he has lost his passion for the game of football. The decision has left a massive hole on the team's offensive line. "He loves the games," said his agent, Mark Bartelstein. "He has to love the game. He just hasn't been feeling it." The Saints will place Kreutz on the left-team list and then eventually release him.

Saints head coach Sean Payton has returned to practice with the team after suffering a serious leg injury during Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. "I'd never really been hurt," said Payton, who broke his left leg when he was caught in a tackle along the sideline. "This is the first time I've ever been really injured at all. It's just unfortunate when it happened." Payton needed surgery to repair a torn meniscus and a fractured tibia on Monday morning. He remained in the hospital until Wednesday.

New Orleans tight end Jimmy Graham ran into him during the first half. Payton remained on the bench in the first half after the injury with his leg elevated and ice on the injury. His headset was on and he kept on coaching before getting x-rays at halftime. He is calling plays from upstairs in the second half.

Negotiations between the Saints and quarterback Drew Brees on a long-term contract have slowed considerably in recent weeks, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Because of the breakdown in progress, it is looking more and more like New Orleans will wait to see how the season plays out, place their franchise tag on the quarterback and then try to work out a long-term deal in the offseason. If the Saints use the exclusive version of the tag, Brees can't even talk to another team.

The NFL fined Saints safety Roman Harper $15,000 for his late hit on Panthers receiver Steve Smith after he scored a touchdown Sunday, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Jeremy Shockey, who caught the go-ahead touchdown in the team's Super Bowl win a few years ago, is a bit upset about his departure from the Saints. New Orleans let Shockey go to clear the way for Jimmy Graham this year. He is now with the Panthers. "I have a lot of respect for everyone in that organization, but that was first time I have ever been cut or released in my life so I'm not going to sit here and say I don't have a bitter taste in my mouth about being pushed off to side and being told, 'see you, good luck,'" Shockey said.

Saints wide receiver Marques Colston has been cleared to face the Jaguars on Sunday. Colston missed the team's last two games with a broken collarbone sustained in the season opener against the Packers. He was originally scheduled to miss four-to-six weeks. "I wouldn't anticipate him getting 50 snaps, but he is cleared," coach Sean Payton said. "He is in the plan."
