Chiefs Create $4M In Cap Space By Adjusting Rod Streater's Contract

Aug 19, 2016 11:01 AM

The Kansas City Chiefs made an adjustment to Rod Streater's contract this week that allowed them to create $4 million in cap space.

The Chiefs had been around negative-$900,000, but had a little more than $3 million in space on Wednesday, according to the NFLPA. Streater's cap number dropped from $4.8 million to $810,000 due to a restructure of contract's incentives that was filed in early August.

Chiefs 'Confident' Eric Berry Will Be Back By Week 1

Aug 12, 2016 10:47 AM

There has still been no sign of Eric Berry at Kansas City Chiefs camp.

Berry hasn't reported to training camp since he and the team failed to reach an agreement ahead of the deadline to sign franchise tagged players.

The safety will have to play under the $10.8 million franchise tag for one season if and when he returns to the team.

Still, the Chiefs are confident Berry will return by the time they face the San Diego Chargers on Sept. 11.

"(Berry's) agent has said ... at some juncture during this course he will show up here," John Dorsey said. "I haven't talked to Eric one-on-one about when he's going to show up.

"Knowing what a prideful professional he is, I think he will show up at the appropriate time."
