Von Miller Tests Positive For COVID-19

Apr 16, 2020 8:58 PM

Von Miller has tested positive for COVID-19.

"It's true," Miller told 9NEWS by phone. "I've just been here in the crib, and I started to get a little cough. You know, I have asthma, and I started getting a little cough a couple days ago. My girlfriend ... she told me when I was asleep, she said my cough, it didn't sound normal."

Miller said a nebulizer didn't help, and his assistant persuaded him to go to the doctor to get tested on Tuesday.

"It's crazy,'' Miller told 9NEWS. "I have to be quarantined here at the house. There's not really any medicine or anything like that. Dr. [Steve] Geraghty told me if my breathing changed ... honestly, I'm still new to this. This is like an hour [since learning I tested positive]. I'm not sure what's going on, but I tell you what, I'm in good spirits. I'm still Von. I'm not feeling sick or hurting or anything like that."

Two Surgeons Say Tua Tagovailoa Will Be Healthy For Camp

Apr 10, 2020 8:40 AM

According to two orthopedic surgeons directly involved in Tua Tagovailoa's hip surgery, the quarterback will be fully healthy when NFL training camps begin.

Lyle Cain, the head team physician at the University of Alabama, and Chip Routt, a professor of orthopedic surgery at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas in Houston, agreed that Tagovailoa's progress would allow him to be cleared for all football activities.

"He's in a normal offseason training program just getting his body back in shape now," Cain said.

The Alabama quarterback is expected to be drafted in the first round later this month.

Ben Roethlisberger 'Was Going To Be Ready To Go For OTAs'

Apr 7, 2020 8:51 AM

Ben Roethlisberger is coming off elbow surgery and says he would have been ready to go for the Pittsburgh Steelers in OTAs.

The quarterback had his season ended after just two games in 2019 because of the injury.

"I was going to be ready to go for OTAs and the minicamps," Roethlisberger. "That was going to be the plan. Now I don't know how much I was going to do, I don't know if I was going to be doing team stuff or stuff like that, but I would have been definitely going to be out there ready to go."

The Steelers would have been scheduled to begin the offseason workout program on April 20.

Tua Tagovailoa Has 'Overwhelmingly Positive' Medical Recheck

Apr 2, 2020 4:36 PM

Tua Tagovailoa underwent a voluntary medical recheck Thursday that was facilitated by the NFL combine, and the results of the comprehensive exam "were overwhelmingly positive."

The results were shared with all 32 teams, the reps said.

In an interview with ESPN's SportsCenter on Wednesday, Tagovailoa said, "I'm 100 percent right now" and that he was "ready to go."

Tagovailoa also said he believed he could play as a rookie if called to do so.

"I feel like if I had to go out there and perform the same way I did my sophomore year and my junior year, being 100 percent healthy, I feel like I'd be able to go out there and do that," he said.
