The New York Jets claimed Knile Davis on waivers but decided to release him hours later after signing C.J. Spiller.

Spiller will join Matt Forte and Bilal Powell in the Jets' backfield.

Davis was traded by the Chiefs to the Packers on Oct. 18th, played two games for Green Bay and then was released.

The Jets already were in negotiations with Spiller, but they hadn't received a commitment when Davis became available on waivers.
