The NFL will have a record five rookies starting at quarterback in Week 1.

The most in any season prior has been three, which was done in both 1968 and 1969.

Rookie quarterbacks have recently struggled, going 51-95 over the past three seasons.

Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco each guided their teams to 11-5 records in their 2008 rookie seasons. But rookie quarterbacks have a .349 winning percentage since 2008.

Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, Russell Wilson, Brandon Weeden and Ryan Tannehill will start for their teams in Week 1.
