The Cincinnati Bengals kept Vontaze Burfict on their 53-man roster, choosing the undrafted linebacker over third-year pro Roddrick Muckelroy.

Burfict was projected to be a first round player after his junior season at Arizona State, but he accumulated an inordinate number of personal fouls and began blaming his coaches. Burfict came to the Combine out of shape and exhibited the same issues on Pro Day, causing all 32 NFL teams to pass on him over seven rounds of the Draft.

Marvin Lewis signed Burfict and offered him a chance in the preseason. Burfict had a sack, interception and moved sideline-to-sideline in the way that made him such a highly regarded prospect and quickly picked up special teams.
