The Cowboys are reportedly thinking about either trading or releasing veteran linebacker Greg Ellis.
Ellis did not take part in Thursday's organized team activity workout.
"He's looking forward to being a Dallas Cowboy," Ellis' agent, James Williams, said. "Now, if that's going to happen, we don't know. That's not in our control."
The Cowboys would free up more than $5 million in cap room with a trade. If they cut Ellis, they would save $4.15 million in 2009.
