The Arizona Cardinals are interested in landing Carson Palmer, but they won't overpay the Oakland Raiders for the veteran quarterback.

Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reported that the Cardinals will deal for Palmer "only if it doesn't cost them much."

Arizona is looking to swap late-round draft picks with Oakland, "possibly conditional on how, or if, Palmer plays."

The Oakland Raiders are expected to soon finalize their acquisition of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Flynn.

It was reported late last week that Oakland was close to landing the veteran in a trade.

The two teams have haggled over draft-pick compensation.

The Buffalo Bills have some interest in Kevin Kolb, according to a report.

The report doesn't indicate if Kolb will visit Buffalo, but rather the team is "interested in kicking the tires."

The "imminent" trade involving Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Flynn appears to be with the Oakland Raiders.

That means Seattle is unlikely to find a trade partner until after the first day of next month's NFL Draft, when the trio of teams could fill their vacancy with a rookie.

"It was a situation where we were really working hard to try to do something to make it work for Anquan to stay (with the Ravens)," John Harbaugh said. "And, I believe Anquan was working hard, too. But when it came down to it, the numbers didn't work work for either side.

"In the end, we decided to make a couple calls. We knew it wasn't going to work out, as far as changing the contract around. So we were going to lose him. We thought we could work it out in the best interest of both parties."

The Oakland Raiders have granted permission to Rolando McClain's agents to seek a trade.

If agent Pat Dye Jr. cannot help facilitate an acceptable trade, McClain will be released, according to the source.

The Raiders would take a $7 million salary cap hit if McClain is released.
