Are you on pace to have your seven Fantasy Football teams go a combined 112-0 this season, as RealGM wrote on Twitter on Tuesday?

Reviewing Week 1

Star Of Stars

QB: Matt Ryan – With 299 yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions and an extra 25 yards rushing with a touchdown, Matt Ryan began what is expected to be a breakout fantasy season as well as possible. The Chiefs were without Brandon Flowers and Tamba Hali, possibly their two most important defensive players, which tempers projections slightly. The Broncos will be an interesting Week 2 test.

RB: Adrian Peterson – For the first time since he was a rookie, Peterson was more of an Unforeseen Explosion than a Star of Stars. Peterson rushed 17 times for 84 yards and two touchdowns just a few months after what was once a career-ending injury. This is probably Peterson’s ceiling for the entire season, as he will rarely receive more than 20 carries and the touchdowns boosted his points total.

WR: Julio Jones – There was no wide receiver entering 2012 with more hype than Jones and he delivered with six receptions for 108 yards and two touchdowns, including one on a screen. There is little doubt that Jones will continue a similar pace since opposing defenses must also gameplan for Roddy White on the other side and the still effective Tony Gonzalez across the middle.

TE: Jimmy Graham – You know you’re one of the two best tight ends in the NFL when a pedestrian game by your standards (85 yards, one touchdown) still puts you No. 1 for the week.

Unforeseen Explosions

QB: Robert Griffin III – The No. 2 overall pick was excellent, throwing for 320 yards on just 26 pass attempts to go with two touchdowns and an additional 42 yards on the ground. Griffin’s start is particularly encouraging for owners in Keeper Leagues.

RB: Alfred Morris – Since a lot of C.J. Spiller’s yards came in garbage time following Fred Jackson’s injury, we’ll go with the early winner of the Mike Shanahan running back derby. Morris looked like the best option in the backfield throughout the preseason and showed it with 28 attempts for 96 yards and two touchdowns. As experienced owners have come to expect, Shanahan keeps the running back situation fluid.

WR: Kevin Ogletree – With eight completions for 114 yards and two touchdowns, Ogletree instantly proves himself as the Cowboys’ legitimate third receiving option. Ogletree is unlikely to duplicate this performance again this season, but the Cowboys should score enough points to make him a frequent starter in deeper leagues.

TE: Dennis Pitta – While Martellus Bennett, Coby Fleener and Jacob Tamme were also options, it was Pitta’s five catches for 73 yards and a touchdown that wins out. Pitta was targeted nine times in total. This is a deep position in 2012.
