By Laremy Legel Welcome to the top 30 recap; ten quarterbacks, ten wide receivers, and ten running backs that made Sunday their personal highlight reel. Top Ten Quarterbacks 1. Peyton Manning: 345yds, 3/0 He?s heating up. The only worry a Manning owner has at this point is a Colts blowout where he doesn?t pass in the second half. 2. Michael Vick: 291yds, 3/0 At Detroit and then home against Cleveland for the next two. He?s coming off the best two game stretch of his career and is starting to justify all the hope. 3. Marc Bulger: 327yds, 2/0 Four out five over 300yds with one measly pick thrown in that time. Given that he?s still got games left against the Raiders, 49ers, and Cardinals it looks like Bulger will end up a top five passer. 4. Rex Grossman: 252yds, 3/0 The scary thing he doesn?t have to be good for the Bears to win but other than the Arizona debacle he?s had 13tds 3int. This from a guy who had four touchdowns in three seasons. If the Bears keep getting him the ball at the opponent?s 30 yard line every drive he?s going to win league MVP. 5. Drew Brees: 383yds, 3/3 He had a good fantasy day because the Saints went down big early but he?s shown an alarming trend of throwing interceptions and his accuracy fell off the map against the Ravens. Hopefully it was just a case of running into a great D. 6. Carson Palmer: 266yds, 2/0 His lowest accuracy on the year was 57 percent and he hasn?t had a day where he?s thrown more picks than scores. All in all, a remarkable recovery from injury. 7. Sage Rosenfels: 186yds, 3/1 Carr is still the starter so this performance looks like it will go down as unclaimed fantasy gold. 8. Damon Huard: 312yds, 1/0 His QB rating is over 100 and you have to wonder know if Trent Green will be told to ?take his time? coming back. 9. Seneca Wallace: 198yds, 3/2 He could have looked much worse against the Chiefs but I think the game plan had limited risk for him. He?s still not a viable QB going forward in my opinion. 10. Steve McNair: 159yds, 2/0 Easily his best game of the year, and on the road versus a good opponent too. However, as a long time McNair basher I?m legally obligated to say it won?t last. Top Ten Running Backs 1. Larry Johnson: 155yds, 3td As they used to say in NBA Jams ?He?s heating up!? Plus he threw on a receiving touchdown for good measure. 2. LaDainian Tomlinson: 183yds, 2td It?s only his second 100 yard game of the year but he too had a receiving touchdown. The issue is with 5 of the Chargers wins coming by double digits there isn?t much reason to run him the whole game. 3. Mike Bell: 136yds, 2td Everyone who doesn?t hate Shanahan raise your hand. I thought so. Picking a Denver running back these days is like playing Frogger. Most of the time you make it but when things go bad you end up squashed. This weekend Tatum Bell owners got hit by a semi. 4. Ahman Green: 106yds, 2td And with this performance Noah Heron goes back to delivering pizzas. 5. Reuben Droughns: 125yds, 1td It?s impossible to say what you?re going to get from this guy. Except for next week when he plays the Chargers. He?ll get nothing then. 6. Thomas Jones: 111yds, 1 td That?s two out of three over the century mark and he?s got the Dolphins coming up this week. So yeah, he?s a must start unless you own both L.T. and L.J. 7. Fred Taylor: 103yds, 1td He?s on pace for over 1200 yards. He was available in the fifth round of most drafts. What I?m getting at is if you own his as your third RB you?re in gravy town. 8. Wali Lundy: 116yds, 0td Next week will be a huge test for him as he visits the Giants. If he lights them up you?re looking at a waiver wire wonder kid. 9. Frank Gore: 111yds, 0td He had 12 carries for 111 yards for 9.3 per carry, though 53 of those yards came on one play in the 4th. If San Francisco could stay in a game more than eight minutes he might be looking at a decent season. 10. Jamal Lewis: 109yds, 0td Not to be a party pooper but it took him 31 carries. I hear fantasy owners around the globe shouting ?I don?t care if it takes him 100 carries!? Top Ten Wide Receivers 1. Reggie Wayne: 10 catches, 138yds, 3td So Manning decided to cheat on Marvin this week. I don?t buy it; he?ll be back in Harrison?s arms real soon. 2. Marques Colston: 6 catches, 163yds, 2td He?s had three big games and four mediocre ones. This makes him the guy who jobs you no matter what you do with him. Try trading him to someone who doesn?t look at the game logs. 3. Owen Daniels: 9 catches, 99yd, 2d No one in the world started Owen Daniels. No one in the whole world. 4. Desmond Clark: 6 catches, 86yds, 2td Someone in the world started Clark but they waited through five weeks of nastiness to do so. 5. Joe Horn: 5 catches, 126yds, 1td Three TDs in his last two games. Maybe old guys take five weeks to warm up. 6. Andre Johnson: 9 catches, 78yds, 1td He?s looking like a 1500yd receiver. He catches a bunch of balls, he scores, and his team is always losing. The prototype fantasy savior. 7. Eddie Kennison: 6 Catches, 132yds, 0td Or maybe it takes old guys eight weeks to get ready! And no, I?m not counting looking good against the 49ers in week four because that was more like a good scrimmage. 8. Terrell Owens: 9 catches, 107yds, 0td You know he is gleeful that Bledsoe is benched. Anyone would be better than Bledsoe for T.O. because Bledsoe couldn?t even get the ball in the air for Owens to make a play on. Romo can. 9. Tony Gonzalez: 6 catches, 116yds, 0td Two big games in a row with the Rams, Dolphins, and Raiders up next. Set it and forget it! 10. Plaxico Burress: 7 catches, 86yds, 1td The need to get him the ball more. I don?t care if he?s a diva, or if the coach is a disciplinarian, or if he?s wildly under-productive given his size.
