Top Ten Quarterbacks
1. Peyton Manning: 342yds, 4/0
Nice to see Peyton back in full machine mode, he only threw ten incompletions and wasn't sacked. He basically filleted the Redskin secondary.
2. Ben Roethlisberger: 238yds, 3/0
He got hurt before he could put up the 300. He looked unstoppable out there right up until he got concussed.
3. Michael Vick: 232yds, 4/2
Vick had never thrown for three Td's in a game yet? How could that be? Manning and Marino had years where they averaged three a game.
4. Carson Palmer: 240yds 2/0
Palmer faced a pretty good Panthers D and still managed to avoid major errors. If you live in a league that penalizes picks in a big way you love this kind of performance.
5. Charlie Batch: 195yds 2/0
He had as much production as Tom Brady in half a game of work. More if your league gives negatives for sacks.
6. Tom Brady: 195yds 2/0
In Buffalo he did just enough to win, just like he has the past five years.
7. Joey Harrington: 414yds 2/3
This was a clear case of a good fantasy day mixed with a bad overall day. He had 62 attempts! That's a Dolphin record, and I hate to bring up Marino again but I'd think if you had anyone throwing 62 times it would have been that guy.
8. Donovan McNabb: 302yds, 3/3
If you count the three picks he only misses ten completions too. Still at 16/5 he's leading a lot of people to the league title.
9. Jon Kitna: 269yds, 3/2
You have to hand it to the Lions, they are always losing so they are always throwing. A consistent fantasy pipeline.
10. Phillip Rivers: 266yds, 2/1
Why not Phil Rivers? I remember liking him at NC State but no way anyone predicted he'd adjust this well. He looks better than Eli Manning, Alex Smith, and Matt Leinhart.
Top Ten Running Backs
1. Larry Johnson: 132yds, 2td
He's had three worthy games and three below average games. He's killing fantasy owners part time.
2. Leon Washington: 129yds, 2td
He's averaging 4.9 yds per carry which would put him third on the all-time list if he could keep it up. Only twelve or thirteen years left for him on that front.
3. Brian Westbrook: 101yds, 1td
He had 214 total yards from scrimmage, he averaged 7.8 per carry. When he's healthy he's in the discussion for best back in the league.
4. Chester Taylor: 169yds, 1td
A very nice day and he's projected near 2000 yards from scrimmage from the season. Not bad from a kid out of Toledo.
5. Ahman Green: 118yds, 1td
He came back and killed Noah Herron and the Herron fan club. But he hasn't sniffed 100 yards in 13 of the last 15 games so I wouldn't go penciling him in as a stalwart yet.
6. Tatum Bell: 115yds, 1td
Shanahan isn't teasing us anymore and Tatum is stringing together nice games.
7. Corey Dillon: 47yds, 2td
The old Dillon showed up for a couple days but he'll never again be the man he was in a Bengal uniform.
8. Wali Lundy: 93yds, 1td
Let's see, Ron Dayne or a guy with a pulse? Dayne runs a 6.5 40 yard dash. You make the call.
9. Rudi Johnson: 101yds, 0td
If only he could catch the ball. If only Carson wasn't so good at that throwing thing. If only.
10. Warrick Dunn: 69yds, 1td
They ran him and ran him and he didn't do anything. But he did get a TD. So we'll but him on the list.
Top Wide Receivers
1. Hines Ward: 8 Catches, 171yds, 3td
He was everywhere. He ran one in with one shoe. He goes over the middle, he blocks, heck I hear he does charity work too. He's a monster.
2. Alge Crumpler: 6 Catches, 117yds, 3td
He's a big target and Vick just kept throwing at him. That Falcons - Steelers match-up was where defenses went to die.
3. Marvin Harrison: 7 Catches, 73yds, 2td
Immortal. Don't you wonder if Manning and him are friends? Like if Manning is burning the steaks Marvin hops in and saves him? Or Manning calls Harrison and reminds him when his wife's anniversary is? I'm just saying they have a tiny bit of chemistry.
4. Darrell Jackson: 7 Catches, 136yds, 1td
I'm not sure if he caught a Seneca Wallace pass but if he did this is even more impressive because that guy can't pass.
5. Randy Moss: 7 Catches, 129yds, 1td
What are you doing here buddy? You have to love a guy who has nothing but natural ability and then doesn't give a crap. Wait, no, actually you don't have to love that even a little.
6. Reggie Wayne: 7 Catches, 122yds, 1td
Reggie Wayne would be like the mistress in the Manning-Harrison relationship. When Peyton wants something a little sexier he turns to little Reggie.
7. Mike Furrey: 9 Catches, 109yds, 1td
Admit it, you wouldn't know Furrey if he walked up to you with a shirt that said ?I'm Mike Furrey.? You should know him though, when they double Williams this is the main alternative.
8. Donald Driver: 10 Catches, 93yds, 1td
As a fan who loves the Dolphins I'll tell you to start anyone playing them because they are horrible. The secondary is especially nasty, they couldn't stop a lot of flag football teams.
9. Tony Gonzalez: 6 Catches, 138yds, 0td
Good old gonzo. It was his first big game of the season, though anyone who owns him at this point is probably crazy bitter towards him.
10. Steve Smith: 8 Catches, 126yds, 0td
Does anyone really think he won't make the list from here on out? I certainly don't.
