A.J. Brown, Eagles Agree To Three-Year, $96M Extension

Apr 25, 2024 9:26 PM

A.J. Brown and the Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to a three-year, $96 million extension. The $84 million is the most guaranteed money in NFL history for a wide receiver, surpassing the $77 million guaranteed that Amon-Ra St. Brown recently received from the Detroit Lions.

Brown's $32 million average annual value is also the highest for any receiver in the NFL.

Earlier this month, the Eagles signed DeVonta Smith to a three-year extension worth $75 million with $51 million guaranteed.

NFL: Falcons, Eagles Tampering Probes Won't Conclude This Week

Apr 24, 2024 8:25 AM

The NFL's investigation into alleged tampering by the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles remains ongoing and will not be concluded this week, according to the league.

The Eagles and Falcons each have eight picks in the 2024 draft. The timing of the potential punishments now means that neither team will lose draft picks this year.

Atlanta is being investigated for allegedly being in direct contact with Kirk Cousins before they were legally allowed to according to league rules.

The Eagles are being investigated for alleged tampering regarding their signing of Saquon Barkley.

Decision Imminent On Eagles, Falcons Tampering Charges

Apr 23, 2024 8:24 AM

The NFL will soon announce punishments for tampering charges against both the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles during this year's free agency period.

The punishment for the Falcons is expected to be more severe as Kirk Cousins admitted on-the-record that he communicated with Atlanta's athletic trainer and head of public relations before the new league year.

Saquon Barkley's college head coach at Penn State, James Franklin, alluded to Barkley and Eagles general manager Howie Roseman speaking on the phone before such communication was allowed.

The Miami Dolphins lost their 2023 first-round draft choice and a 2024 third-rounder for tampering with Tom Brady and Sean Payton three different times from 2019 through 2022. Owner Stephen Ross was fined $1.5 million, and team vice chair and limited partner Bruce Beal received a $500,000 fine.

The Kansas City Chiefs lost their 2016 third-rounder and a 2017 sixth-round choice for tampering with wide receiver Jeremy Maclin in 2015.

Jalen Hurts: I Yearn For Consistency At Playcaller

Apr 17, 2024 9:19 PM

Jalen Hurts hopes the Philadelphia Eagles find continuity at offensive coordinator with the hiring of Kellen Moore.

"I think as a player, I definitely yearn for the sustainability and the consistency there. ... As a quarterback, I yearn for those things in a playcaller and a quarterback coach because you kind of see how consistency in those areas can breed excellence," Hurts said.

"I find myself in a situation very similar to college in terms of having a constantly revolving door in terms of coordinators and coaches. But I've always managed to have success in it, so that's always been a good thing, because you've been able to learn from people and apply it."

Hurts had continuity at offensive coordinator for the 2021 and 2022 seasons under Shane Steichen, but he left the Eagles to become head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.

Moore is expected to be "in charge" of the offense, per Sirianni's phrasing, with Sirianni taking on a more macro-level role after being the chief offensive designer for his first three seasons in Philadelphia.
