The Oakland Raiders have signed Taylor Mays.

Mays was released recently by the Detroit Lions.

Mays is entering his sixth NFL season, following stops with the San Francisco 49ers and Cincinnati Bengals.

Mays played collegiately at USC from 2006-09 while Raiders defensive coordinator Ken Norton, Jr. coached on the defensive side of the ball and eventually served as the assistant head coach defense/linebackers in 2009, Mays’ final collegiate season.

Raiders, Chargers Willing To Change Divisions

Aug 17, 2015 8:28 PM

The Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers have agreed upon a switch in divisions if they both move to Los Angeles.

The Chargers and Raiders are rivals in the AFC West, which could make game scheduling and other issues difficult in a shared stadium.

"The teams have made clear to the league and NFL owners that "you send us to LA and you'll make the decision as to who plays in what conference or division," Carmen Policy told reporters.

NFL Exec: Oakland Has No Viable Plan To Keep Raiders

Aug 12, 2015 6:42 PM

NFL owners held a meeting in Chicago on Tuesday to discuss a possible relocation to Los Angeles.

The Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and St. Louis Rams all have interest in relocating to Los Angeles.

"The facts on the ground are that there's been no viable proposal to the Raiders," executive vice president of NFL ventures and business operations Eric Grubman said after the Special League Meeting on Los Angeles. "... As of yet, there's no proposal for the Raiders to consider."

Added Grubman: "If a proposal is made at any stage, and it's not actionable ... it's really not something the club could act upon."

McKenzie: Latavius Murray Can Do It All

Aug 6, 2015 11:16 AM

The Oakland Raiders are confident in the ability of Latavius Murray, who is a huge running back at 6'3, 230 pounds.

"Size and speed," said Murray, via the San Francisco Chronicle. "Not many guys with that combination. I do watch those two guys, but I know I have to stick to my game."

Reggie McKenzie believes Murray can be a 1,000-yard rusher.

"No question," McKenzie said. "He can do it all."

"For a big guy, Latavius has extremely good quickness," offensive line coach Mike Tice said. "And when he gets behind his pads, he is hard to tackle. Smaller linebackers might be in serious trouble."
