Peterson Ranked No. 1 In NFL's Top 100, Rodgers Drops To No. 6

Oct 7, 2014 1:11 PM

Adrian Peterson has been voted as the No. 1 player on the NFL Network's list of the Top 100 Players for 2013.

Peyton Manning, Calvin Johnson, Tom Brady and J.J. Watt rounded out the top-five.

"I had a good feeling without being cocky that I would be No. 1," Peterson said on the "Top 100" after show. "I kind of made that assumption with the MVP. I was like, 'Well, I don't see how I wouldn't be No. 1 knowing that I won MVP,' so I kind of put myself there."

Aaron Rodgers, widely considered the most valuable single commodity in the NFL, dropped from No. 1 to No. 6.

Vikings Won't Start Sharrif Floyd

Sep 15, 2014 4:14 PM

The Minnesota Vikings will not start first round rookie Sharrif Floyd at defensive tackle to begin the season.

Floyd will spell Kevin Williams as his backup.

The Vikings do not want to move either Floyd or Williams to nose tackle where Letroy Guion and Fred Evans split time.

"I don't foresee such a dropoff with Letroy or Fred for that to happen," Leslie Frazier said. "That would be optimal if (Floyd's) able to get in the rotation, have success, and we can gradually add more to his plate as the season goes on."

Oct 31, 2014 5:06 AM

The New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs are interested in signing Demond Bishop.

Bishop was released by the Green Bay Packers on Monday.

“The Giants and Jacksonville are the next two that are interested,’’ Bishop said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “Actually, the Niners called but of course, you know, they’re kind of set over there. I appreciate their interest in me regardless. But the Giants, which is a real good situation, and Jacksonville as well.”

Vikings Seek More Balanced Offense

Sep 15, 2014 4:13 PM

The Minnesota Vikings would like to have a more balanced offense despite proclamations from Adrian Peterson that 2,500 yards is within reach.

"It's not imperative that (Adrian Peterson) rushed for 2,000 yards, or 2,500 yards, for us to win," said Leslie Frazier. Our offense always is going to run through Adrian, but we want to be able to pass the ball better than we did a year ago."

Peterson had 348 carries last season.
