Jaguars Clinch First Overall Pick In 2021 NFL Draft

Dec 27, 2020 8:59 PM

The Jacksonville Jaguars have clinched the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft with their loss and the New York Jets' victory over the Cleveland Browns in Week 16.

Trevor Lawrence is the probable pick at first overall and widely considered the best prospect since Andrew Luck.

The Jaguars have had just one winning season since 2007, and they have lost 10 or more games nine times in the past 10 years.

The Jaguars have used first round picks on Byron Leftwich, Blaine Gabbert and Blake Bortles.

With the victory, the Jets relinquished their front-runner position for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft. The Jacksonville Jaguars are now projected to pick first overall.

"Hey, our job is to try to go out and win every week," Adam Gase said.

Joseph Ossai Leaves Texas For 2021 NFL Draft

Dec 14, 2020 1:39 PM

Joseph Ossai is leaving Texas for the 2021 NFL draft. Ossai will stop playing for the Longhorns immediately.

Ossai is Mel Kiper's second ranked outside linebacker in the draft class.

"Now that our regular season has ended, I have made the tough decision to go ahead and begin to prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft," he said in a statement. "As a kid, I dreamt of playing at Texas and going on to play in the NFL. I feel the time is now right, and even though it is bittersweet I am excited to face this new challenge."

The Longhorns potentially have only a bowl game remaining this season, should they choose to accept a bid.
