Fairley Arrested On DUI Charge, Attempting To Elude Police
Nick Fairley has been arrested in Alabama on charges of driving under the influence and attempting to elude police, his second arrest in his home state in two months.
Alabama state troopers say the Lions defensive tackle passed a state trooper early Sunday morning at 100 mph in his Cadillac Escalade in unincorporated Mobile County.
After initially refusing to stop for the trooper's emergency lights and siren, Fairley pulled over and seemed impaired. He was arrested without incident.
Fairly was also cited for reckless driving, no proof of insurance and open container.
Jamaal Lewis Over $10.5M In Debt, Files Bankruptcy
Former Ravens and Browns running back Jamal Lewis has filed for bankruptcy in Atlanta with debts of more than $10.5 million, according to TMZ.
Lewis, 32, claimed assets of $14,455,854 and debts of $10,566,764. The report said that Lewis owned five homes.
He rushed for 1,364 yards as a rookie with the Ravens in 2000, when the team won the Super Bowl. In 2003 he became the fifth man to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a season when he totaled 2,066.
Bengals Rookie Joiner Gets Three-Year Sentence
Bengals undrafted rookie Brandon Joiner was sentenced to three years in prison on charges stemming from a 2007 incident that occurred when he was playing at Texas A&M.
Joiner, a linebacker who is still listed on Cincinnati's website as being on the roster, was indicted for two counts of aggravated robbery and one charge of felony drug possession in January 2008.
Report: NFL Takes Action Against 'My Jesus' T-Shirt
The NFL will step in and pursue legal action against the maker of the "My Jesus" t-shirt, if the company refuses to halt production, according to a league source.
The league already sent the maker, CubbyTees.com, a cease-and-desist order last week and will seek legal action if the company does not comply.
Brandon Marshall Won't Face Charges
New York City police have decided not to bring charges against Brandon Marshall for an altercation outside a nightclub in March, according to the receiver's attorney.
"Brandon was the victim here and never did anything wrong," Harvey Steinberg said. "This confirms that."
Marshall was alleged to have punched a woman in the face outside Manhattan's Marquee club, but police struggled to find evidence against Marshall.
Jonathan Vilma Sues Roger Goodell
Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma has filed a defamation lawsuit against NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
The suit claims Goodell has made false statements about Vilma while discussing the NFL's bounty investigation of the team.
Goodell has said Vilma was a leader of the team's bounty program that put up thousands of dollars for big hits on opposing players from 2009-11.
Goodell has suspended Vilma for the entire season.
Tebow Sends Cease And Desist To Maker Of 'Jesus' Jets Shirt
Tim Tebow's attorneys sent a cease and desist letter to the folks at Cubby Tees, who have made a Jets-themed shirt with 'Jesus' across the front.
Tebow's attorneys put it this way: "The Merchandise makes it appear as if Mr. Tebow actually endorses Cubby Tees and its products."
The shirt remixes the Jets logo to a more Jesus-friendly theme. The "NY" is replaced with "MY" and the "JETS" is replaced with "JESUS."

New York police are likely to wrap up their investigation this week into a March nightclub incident in which Bears receiver Brandon Marshall is alleged to have punched a woman in the face, according to sources.
Police have struggled to find evidence against Marshall, according to sources, and it's likely there will be no charges filed and the case will be closed.
