The Los Angeles Rams have reached agreement with cornerback Jaylen Watson on a three-year contract worth $51 million, agent Collin Roberts of Excel told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Watson, 27, joins a Rams secondary that recently acquired fellow former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie via trade.

The Rams signed McDuffie to a four-year, $124 million extension last week, making him the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history. That deal includes $100 million guaranteed, per sources who informed Schefter.

Watson had the strongest season of his four-year career in 2025, recording two interceptions, six pass breakups, two sacks and 64 tackles in 15 games. He allowed only one touchdown when serving as the nearest defender in coverage and proved capable in both press-man and zone schemes.

Kansas City selected Watson with the 243rd pick in the 2022 draft. He played 868 defensive snaps, a career-high 96% of Kansas City's defensive plays, in 2025 under coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. It was the first full season Watson served as a starter.

Watson contributed to two consecutive Super Bowl championships with the Chiefs. In 10 playoff games, he recorded two interceptions, six pass breakups and one fumble recovery.

Watson's most notable career play came during his rookie season. He intercepted a pass and returned it 99 yards for a touchdown against the Los Angeles Chargers.
