The San Francisco 49ers have signed Joshua Dobbs to a one-year deal with $2.25 million fully guaranteed.

Dobbs will likely replace Sam Darnold as the backup quarterback behind Brock Purdy.

Dobbs started the first eight games of the season for the Arizona Cardinals and then joined the Minnesota Vikings.

Dobbs has played for four teams since being drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers as a fourth-round pick in 2017.
