The Los Angeles Rams will pick up the 2023 option bonus and 2024 salary of Matthew Stafford by the third day of the league year.

The option bonus and 2024 salary will pay Stafford a combined $62 million in guaranteed money.

The Rams could have designated Stafford a post-June 1 cap casualty had they decided not to pick up the option, which would have counted him $13.5 million against their cap in 2023 and an additional $36 million in 2024.

Stafford will return for at least one more season under Sean McVay.

Stafford, who turns 35 next month, ended the season on injured reserve with a spinal cord contusion and twice spent time in the concussion protocol.
