Antonio Cromartie has vastly improved his play since Week 3 when Darrelle Revis was lost for the season with a torn ACL.

During a plane ride the previous week, Revis told Cromartie that he was capable of playing at a higher level.

“It took for him to come talk to me as a peer to understand that we can have one of the greatest 1-2 punches at corner for me to end up playing at this level,” Cromartie said. “I thank Revis for coming to talk to me and being a great teammate to make sure I’m playing at a high level.”

Cromartie has been in charge of leading the secondary in the absence of Revis.

“I think the biggest thing that’s changed for me is the leadership role,” Cromartie said. “Just making sure everyone was on top of everything, helping guys study film and knowing how to study film. I think I just took on a role that once (Revis) left, and I wanted to make sure I played at a higher level every single week.”
