Jim Schwartz believes it is too early to judge whether the Detroit Lions did enough in the offseason to improve their roster.

"I think the only time you'll be able to say that is after 16 games," Schwartz said. "Like I said, it's a 16 game season. You're judged on what you do for 16 and that's our objective. We didn't have the start that we wanted to have, but it's not to say we can't put that behind us and dig ourselves out, because we certainly can."

The Lions' biggest addition in free agency was cornerback Jacob Lacey.

In the draft, the Lions addressed long-term needs while seemingly ignoring the short-term trouble spots.
