Michael Crabtree has become the San Francisco 49ers' go-to receiver over the first two weeks of the 2012 season.

Crabtree had six catches for 67 yards in Week 2 against the Lions after catching seven balls for 76 yards at Green Bay.

Crabtree's career with the 49ers began controversially after a long holdout, followed by general underachievement.

“I don’t think the criticism of him was fair,” said left tackle Joe Staley. “It was him coming in and they called him a ‘diva.’ But he’s always been a guy who has been very professional and prepared very well.

“He didn’t have the success early on like he wanted, but it was never because of a lack of preparation or the way he practiced.”
