Daniel Thomas suffered a concussion on a hit from Glover Quin in the Miami Dolphins' loss at the Texans on Sunday.

Thomas fumbled the ball on the play.

"On Wednesday we'll give an update," Joe Philbin said on Monday. "I've been pleased with his progression during the course of the preseason and training camp, I really have. He had an impactful play; obviously he didn't get a chance to run the ball a whole lot in the game. I think he's going to be a good football player, I really do.

"He's got to hold onto the ball. We thought we had a relatively safe call, it wasn't like we were trying to move the ball down the field at that time. It was 17-3 at that point and our thought was, look, 'The guys had played their tails off from an effort and physicality point, and to be down two possessions, even though we had to kick the ball off [in the second half] we felt we could still hang in there. So that was a backbreaker. That fumble right there was a backbreaker.''

The Dolphins could activate rookie Lamar Miller for Sunday's game against the Raiders.
