Former Bengals running back David "Deacon" Turner was shot and killed outside a convenience store in Bakersfield, Calif., following an altercation with sheriff's deputies. According to the Bakersfield Californian, Turner, 56, his son, 19, and a juvenile, 16, left the store after purchasing items that included alcohol. Turner tried to leave after being questioned by officers and he allegedly scuffled with sheriff's deputies after they attempted to detain him. One deputy was allegedly struck in the back of the head by a bag containing beer. Another deputy, Wesley Kraft, responded by drawing his handgun and shot Turner twice. Turner died a couple hours later at a local hospital.
