Friday's self-imposed deadline for settling on a Vikings stadium bill came and went, but supporters seem confident that an agreement is still very possible. Ted Mondale, chair of the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission, said a meeting of stakeholders called Tuesday by Gov. Mark Dayton seemed to shake loose weeks of arduous negotiations. "We had been stalled for about a month, but we're not stalled now," Mondale said. "We're a lot closer this week than last." Lester Bagley, the Vikings' vice president in charge of stadium development, said that "significant progress" was made this week. "I think when legislators and the governor are ready to address the stadium in a special session, that we will have the comprehensive proposal in front of them," he said. Even if agreement is reached on the stadium bill, it won't be enacted until after Dayton and legislators close a budget deal.
