Longtime Eagles kicker David Akers will likely become a free agent once the league year begins. Jerrold Colton, the agent for Akers, said his client "isn't really fazed" by Philadelphia's fourth-round selection of kicker Alex Henery. "He looks at things in a big-picture type of way," Colton said. "He wants to see where he ends up next." Teams rarely carry two kickers on their roster. The Eagles tried to retain Akers before the lockout by using the transition tag that would have kept him around for another year and given the sides an opportunity to work out an extension, but Akers decided against signing the tender.
