The NFL Management Council has yet to release official franchise numbers for the 2011 season. With the collective bargaining agreement set to expire March 3, the use of the tag continues to be challenged by the NFLPA. However, the league has advised teams they can franchise players and the NFL's deadline to do so expires at the end of the week. Franchise tags are based on the top-five salaries at each position. There is a significant jump in the value for defensive tackles. It is fueled largely by the $21 million bonus Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth received last spring.
