The Titans and running back Chris Johnson could agree on a signing bonus for 2010 that could appease the player's desire for a larger contract. "Under the terms of the five-year, $12 million contract he signed prior to his rookie season, Johnson has reached escalators in the deal that could pay him up to an additional $2.5 million in salary in 2012," Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean writes. "The Titans could turn that money into a signing bonus in 2010 and combine it with his scheduled base salary of $550,000 for this fall." Johnson is looking for a deal with roughly $30 million in guarantees, but the Titans haven't budged much.
