The Cowboys have traded linebacker Bobby Carpenter to the Rams for tackle Alex Barron. The swap was rumored for a number of days. Carpenter, the 18th pick in 2006 for the Cowboys, never settled in at inside linebacker in the 3-4 scheme and seemed more suited to play the outside linebacker position in a 4-3 alignment.
