Texas quarterback Colt McCoy left Thursday night's BCS championship game against Alabama with a shoulder injury after a first-quarter hit.
He was hit hard and suffered the injury on the Longhorns' first drive. McCoy was taken to the locker room for X-rays.
McCoy's status for the remainder of the game is uncertain.
His replacement, Garrett Gilbert, completed just one of his first nine pass attempts and threw an interception.
