Jets receiver Braylon Edwards has been charged with a misdemeanor assault in connection with an incident outside a nightclub, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The incident, which occurred when Edwards was a member of the Browns, occurred outside the View Ultralounge and Nightclub in Cleveland. Edwards was accused of punching entertainment promoter Edward Givens, a friend of LeBron James. "The team was aware of these allegations prior to acquiring Braylon from Cleveland," the Jets said in a release. "He has been cooperative with authorities and we will allow the legal process to run its course."
