The Colts hope to get safety Bob Sanders back by mid-October. Indianapolis didn't place him on the PUP list, which would have kept him out for six weeks. They're hoping he'll return sooner. "The biggest thing was that we felt he (Sanders) was going to be back inside that five- or six-week window," coach Jim Caldwell told NFL.com. "He's making progress, he's coming along." The NFL's Defensive Player of the Year in 2007, Sanders had offseason knee surgery.
