The Packers are in negotiations with wide receiver Greg Jennings on a new contract. "We've been working on some things. We're coming pretty close, as far as my understanding is, to some type of a deal," Jennings said Monday. "But when I say close, we could still be far ... if that makes sense. But I think we're coming close. You just never know how long 'close' can take to actually closing the deal." Jennings has been looking for a new deal since the end of the 2008 season. "He's a good player and he's a good guy. He always has been," Green Bay general manager Ted Thompson said. "He was raised in a strong family and he seems to be pretty well-grounded. ... He's an established player."
