Jul 4, 2014 6:05 AM

Bears linebacker Lance Briggs wants a new contract, but the six-time Pro Bowler insists that the issues won't be a distraction. "I'm going to go out and play the game the way I've always played it and see what happens," Briggs said. "I'm going to plug away and do what I've always done. I'm here to help us win a championship." Briggs emphasized he won't immediately seek a trade. "I am not asking to be traded, nor do I want to be traded," Briggs said. "I love it here. I am a Chicago Bear."

Frustrated Gore Could Request Trade

Oct 16, 2014 11:27 PM

49ers running back Frank Gore is "frustrated" that he's yet to receive a contract extension, according to a report. Talks between San Francisco and Gore's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, have reportedly gotten "volatile" and a trade request could be coming soon. However, Gore's training-camp holdout lasted just four days and there have been no obvious signs since that there is serious acrimony between the two-time Pro Bowl running back and the team.

Umenyiora Still Planning For Trade

Jul 7, 2014 8:35 AM

Giants defensive Osi Umenyiora returned to practice with the team on Monday, but he is still in the midst of a contract stalemate with the team. Umenyiora still has a trade on his mind. "Just because he's back on the football field," friend Justin Tuck said, "doesn't mean this whole saga I guess is over." Umenyiora -- who has $7.1 million and two years left on his contract -- rejected the team's offer to add incentives to his $3.1 million salary for 2011 is because a player can renegotiate his contract only once a season. Therefore, if he was traded following a renegotiation with New York, he wouldn't be able to get a new deal with his new team.
