However, members of FIFA (Federation Internationale De Football Association) are not slowing down. Following in the footsteps of the World Wildlife Federation?s (WWF) lawsuit against the former World Wrestling Federation, now World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), FIFA is suing the NFL over the rights to the term ?Football?. In an official statement to the press, FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter laid out the agenda of the Federation. ?It is our term and with the growing popularity of soccer, I mean football, in the United States, it will remain our term. Besides, they rarely use their feet in the NFL and the only players that do are former football (soccer) players anyway.? NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue, currently on the last days of his ?reign of terror? as commish could not comment too specifically on the lawsuit, but did have the following to say: ?The world can use football as much as they want, here in America, football will be used to describe the hard-hitting, bone-crushing, high-scoring sport that is our football.?
