A 2010 Wall Street Journal study calculated that only about 11 minutes of a typical NFL broadcast is devoted to game action while about half as much screen time goes to shots of the coaches on the sidelines.

The average number of times a coach or quarterback is shown during a telecast varies widely per game.

Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are far and away the most frequently shown quarterbacks, while Jim Harbaugh, Bill Belichick and Chip Kelly are the most visible head coaches.

Mike Glennon is the least shown quarterback, while Mike McCarthy and Jim Caldwell get shown infrequently.
