 The Green Bay Packers prevailed!...Victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday night football- a physical showdown, but despite the win, the Packers lost a team player(Brady Poppinga) linebacker, 6?3 at 245lbs., to an excruciating injury- considered to be a playmaker significant enough to contribute to change in the future for the packers defense.
Suffering such catrastrophic injury, a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, delayed Poppinga to the injured reserve list. Returning dutifully, as a starter for the Packers were the expectations for next year, but now he will unfortunately, miss the remaining season, and a low probability of him(Poppinga) opening with the Packs? in training camp, which could mean a slight in-balance for the team?s defense. Purposefully, Brady Poppinga, a 4th round pick out of (Brigham Young) concluded his game Sunday night with the likes of 4 solo tackles against the Detroit Lions.
Acknowledging other key playmakers, like Sam Gado, RB, once a third string tailback out of Liberty college, ended his night with a profound performance, running for a lofty 171 yards, averaging 5.9 yards per touch with 29 touches, under a cold-snowy Lambeau Field Stadium, staying warm-leading his team (Packers) to a 16-13 win in overtime against the Lions.
With the recent firing of Steve Mariucchi, Lions owner Matt Millen just did not see where Mariucchi would fit in next seasons? schedule, considering future playoff or superbowl win with the Lions, but the firing of Mariucchi still could not attest for Brett Favre?s exceeding the everso, Dan Marino?s passing record (14/13) ?
Yeah? consequentially, things still remain cheesy for the Packs? and their continuing season balance, being at a record of 3-10 after the win against the Lions(4-9),is rather cheesy and does not seemingly depict winning expectations for next year, especially with Ahmad Carroll, DB , out of the University of Arkansas (Razorbacks)-- oversaturating himself with penalties, but succeeds quota and plays well with great physicality.
It?s questionable for the Detroit Lions in their match up against the Cincinnati Bengals. Noone is laughing at the Bengals anymore-- I mean with definitive respect for Chad Johnson and Cincinnati-- clinching the AFC North could be in their (Bengals) favor. |
