Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson ended his lengthy holdout Friday by signing his $583,000 restricted free-agent tender, the team announced via press release.
Jackson skipped all of training camp and the first seven weeks of the regular season to protest the lack of a long-term deal.
He will serve a three-game suspension imposed by the Chargers, who placed Jackson on the roster exempt list earlier this season.

By reporting Oct. 29, Jackson will be able to serve a three-game, team-imposed suspension on the roster exempt list, then play in the final six games to accrue his sixth season toward unrestricted free agency.

Junior Seau has driven off an embankment in Southern California and is hospitalized with minor injuries, hours after he was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, according to an Associated Press report.
Carlsbad police say Seau's Cadillac SUV was found Monday morning on the beach about 30 feet below the roadside. He was taken to Scripps La Jolla Hospital in San Diego.

Vincent Jackson and Logan Mankins both will report this season to their respective teams, the San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots, upon recommendation from the National Football Players Association, according to several sources.
Under this scenario, Jackson will report to the Chargers by Oct. 31 and Mankins will report to the Patriots by Nov. 16 to earn an accrued season and secure unrestricted free agency in 2011.
Both players can be traded by Tuesday's 4 p.m. deadline if they are willing to sign their contract tenders.
