Redskins Claim Choice On Waivers
The Redskins have claimed Tashard Choice off waivers, according to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter.
Dallas put Choice on waivers prior to the team's Week 8 loss to Philadelphia.
Choice became expendable following the emergence of DeMarco Murray at running back.
Rob Ryan Takes Blame For Sunday Night Loss
Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan has taken the blame for the team's loss to the Eagles on Sunday night.
Ryan mockingly referred to the Eagles as the "all-hype team" during training camp and vowed that the Cowboys would "kick their ass" when the NFC East rivals met.
Philadelphia scored on their first six possessions at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday, leading to a 34-7 romp.
"The whole thing is I got outcoached by [Andy] Reid and their staff," Ryan said. "I mean, it's ridiculous. I never gave our guys a chance. The whole [expletive] thing was on me. If I gave them any extra motivation, hell, I certainly never backed it up. I gave our guys a lousy plan. We had no chance, and it's all on me."
Rob Ryan: 'I Got Out-Coached, Out-Everything'
Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan admitted following the team's 34-7 loss to the Eagles on Sunday night that he was outcoached.
Ryan's comments referring to Philadelphia as the "all-hype team" prior to the season made headlines leading up to Sunday's game.
"It's not the first time I've said something and gotten my butt kicked," Ryan said afterwards. "I got out-coached, out-everything.
"It's all on me."
Michael Vick said those comments were in the back of everyone's minds but termed it a "non-issue" in Sunday's victory.
Jerry Jones Looks To Make Statement Against Eagles
The 2011 season isn't quite at the halfway point, but Sunday night's game between the Eagles and Cowboys in Philadelphia carries great meaning.
The Eagles are 2-4 and badly in need of a win, while the Cowboys feel they can make a statement with a victory.
Jerry Jones told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio that this game has been circled on the calendar since training camp.
Jones added that he sees it as a significant opportunity to make a statement about who the Cowboys are as a football team.
Cowboys Cut Injured Tashard Choice
The Cowboys waived injured running back Tashard Choice on Saturday morning.
If Choice clears waivers, the team will then reach an injury settlement with him.
The move was made to clear a roster spot for rookie linebacker Bruce Carter, who is expected to make his pro debut Sunday night at Philadelphia.
Choice suffered a shoulder injury in the third quarter against the St. Rams last week.
Cowboys Have Limited Options At Running Back
The Cowboys will be limited at running back this Sunday night against the rival Eagles in Philadelphia.
As expected, Felix Jones will miss his second straight game with an ankle injury and Tashard Choice is questionable with shoulder and hamstring injuries, which would leave the starting job to rookie DeMarco Murray.
Murray ran for a franchise-record 253 yards last week against the Rams.
Fellow rookie Phillip Tanner is the only other healthy tailbacks on the 53-man roster, and the Cowboys do not have a running back on the practice squad.
Rob Ryan Won't Back Off 'All-Hype' Talk
Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan acknowledged that his not-so-subtle "all-hype team" jab at the Eagles wasn't a wise off-the-cuff comment.
However, Ryan isn't quite worried about the bulletin-board material he provided this summer as the Cowboys prepare to visit their rivals Sunday night.
"If they need my motivation to get ready to play us, then we're gonna kick their ass anyway," Ryan said. "It ain't going to matter."
DeSean Jackson Fires Back At Rob Ryan For 'All-Hype Team' Comments
Reminded of comments made prior to the season by Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, DeSean Jackson has fired back.
Philadelphia and Dallas will play each on Sunday night.
"For a coach to really say that it's hard for me to kind of respect that because the coach isn't really out there playing," Jackson said.
"He's doing a good job of calling the plays and putting his defense in the right position to stop the offense but as far as the defensive coordinator's comments ... it's kind of unheard of, uncalled for."
Jackson added that he would be more understanding if such talk came from a player "so I would be able to get a chance to get a shot at that player who said something."
Romo Expects Another Painkilling Shot
