Ben Watson Facing Four-Game Suspension

May 28, 2019 8:37 AM

Benjamin Watson wrote on Facebook on Sunday that he is facing a four-game suspension for a failed test in March of the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

The tight end recently signed a contract with the New England Patriots.

He had originally planned to retire following the 2018 season before signing a deal in May.

"After my contract expired last March, I told my doctors I was finished playing, went through a series of medical tests and was prescribed Bio Identical Testosterone Cypionate to assist in healing my body and mind," he wrote on social media.

"On March 29, nine days after I started therapy, I was randomly tested under our substance policies. I complied out of habit, never thinking in the moment I'd want to come back. In late April, some clubs expressed interest in me playing and after much deliberation and prayer, I decided I wanted to return. Considering myself previously retired, I had forgotten all about my test in March until I got a letter on May 3rd saying my results were positive. I was devastated and for obvious reasons did not want to proceed.

"At that point I knew my decision to return to play would include a four-game suspension and I immediately discussed this new development with the clubs."

Dion Jordan Faces 10-Game Ban For Using Adderall

May 15, 2019 8:13 AM

Dion Jordan is facing a 10-game ban from the NFL for taking Adderall, a violation of the league's policy against performance-enhancing drugs.

The free-agent defensive end has been suspended three times in the past, including for an entire season. He had a therapeutic use exemption to use the drug in the past, but it expired. His past suspensions were for violations of the substance abuse (twice) and PED policies.

"I made a mistake," Jordan said. "I feel like the person that I am, I'm ready to move forward, I've been ready to move forward, with this specific issue. I've been working really hard with myself outside of football, and I can see the progress as a young man, as Dion Jordan, I can see it.

"My whole lifestyle -- it's been a 180-degree change. I f---ed up, man. I can't fix this s---. It is what it is. But I know what I can't do and what not to do compared to the mistakes I've made in the past."

Tyreek Hill's Attorney Issues Letter Denying Child Abuse Allegations

May 3, 2019 9:04 AM

Tyreek Hill's attorney issued a detailed letter denying child abuse allegations. The letter also alleges that Hill's fiancee, Crystal Espinal, abused their three-year-old son.

In the recording, Espinal says, "He kept saying, 'Daddy punches me,' which you do when he starts crying. What do you do? You make him open up his arms, and you punch him in the chest."

Attorney N. Trey Pettlon addresses that accusation, writing there have been times when Hill has tapped his son on the chest and told him to "man up, buddy" or "don't cry, my man" while denying grabbing his son's arms as part of physical discipline.

"He [Hill] categorically denies he has ever 'punched' his son in the chest or anywhere on his body, or otherwise touched him in the chest in a mean-spirited manner or as a form of discipline," Pettlon wrote.

Hill is willing to meet with NFL investigators, Pettlon said, and will cooperate with the investigation "to the extent that he can under the law."
