Tim Kawakami, a longtime columnist of the San Jose Mercury News, was verbally confronted by Raiders' executive John Herrera during Lane Kiffin's Monday press conference.
Kawakami wrote a column based on a report that said Herrera gave a negative article about Kiffin published by ESPN to a beat writer for the Raiders and prompted other writers about the piece.
Herrera called Kawakami a liar when he asked Kiffin a question about the report and confronted him during the press conference.
On Tuesday, Kiffin called Kawakami to apologize for the confrontation.
