The Patriots have five running backs competing for four spots on the final roster. ?If we would keep four quarterbacks, I would think we could keep five running backs,? Bill Belichick said Tuesday when asked if it was out of the realm to see all five make the team. The backs in question, of course, are incumbents Laurence Maroney, Sammy Morris, Kevin Faulk, and Heath Evans with newcomer LaMont Jordan. ?From our standpoint, (having all of us here) benefits our team,? Morris said. ?We can all do different things. We?re our biggest cheerleaders.?
