The pulled abdominal muscle suffered by cornerback Sam Madison in last Saturday's loss to the Patriots does not hurt too much to prevent Madison from laughing. "I can laugh a little," Madison said yesterday. "But there's nothing to laugh about." No one around the Giants is laughing about their injury situation heading into tomorrow's NFC wild card playoff game against the Buccaneers. The week of practice is over and done with, and Madison did not make it out for a single workout. Neither did center Shaun O'Hara, who has a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee. Both are listed as doubtful and have virtually no shot at playing. Linebacker Kawika Mitchell is questionable with an MCL sprain and was able to do some individual work prior to practice and a bit of work in the team period. "I'm thinking I'm going to play," said Mitchell, who lives in Orlando and went to college in Tampa at South Florida.
