Javon Walker said he will be back on the field against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 21. "Yes, that's the game I'll be back," Walker said Friday. Broncos coach Mike Shanahan determined that Walker, the team's No. 1 receiver, will not play against the visiting San Diego Chargers today because of a lingering knee problem. Walker didn't play at Indianapolis. Shanahan said Friday when Walker didn't practice for the third straight day that he wouldn't play. Brandon Stokley, the team's No. 3 receiver, will start in Walker's place for the second straight game. Walker has fluid on the back of his knee that continues to need draining. Shanahan agreed with Walker's expectation that he'll be ready to face the Steelers.
